Germany headed for 2018 renewable record – E.ON

Renewable power generation in Germany is headed for a record this year, according to utility E.ON. “By year-end, we expect more than 200 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable generation and feed-in – about five billion more than in 2017, and more than ever before,” said Victoria Ossadnik, head of E.ON Energie Germany. E.ON said this amount of renewable power could cover the annual consumption of 66 million households, equivalent to all households in Germany and Italy combined. The company said, according to its calculations, the 2018 renewable generation to date will top the entire 2017 output sometime this week.
