German energy company Uniper calls for coal exit timetable by French government
The German energy company Uniper has called plans by the French government to end coal-fired power production by 2021 “inadequate” and urged Paris to release a clear timetable and steps to assist the affected companies in mastering the phase-out. The statements French President Emanuel Macron made in his keynote speech on energy policy “fall far short of providing a sound basis for business decisions” and “jeopardise Uniper’s activities in France as a whole,” the company said in a press release.
