Coal commission to meet again on 25 January – source

Clean Energy Wire

Germany’s coal commission will hold its next full plenary meeting on 25 January, followed by the last meeting on 1 February, a commission source told Clean Energy Wire. Discussions in the working groups will continue in the meantime, the source added. A spokesperson of the ministry for economics and energy (BMWi), where the commission is based, declined to comment on the procedural planning of the commission.
In late November, the coal commission decided to extend its original year-end deadline to “conclude its work on 1 February 2019” after eastern German federal states had demanded better and more detailed plans to support coal mining regions.
