Vote25 – German parties’ energy and climate policy positions for the 2025 election

Germans head to the polls on 23 February 2025 to elect a new parliament. The vote will decide the make-up of the country's next government, which will shape the coming years of climate and energy policy. Key energy transition issues in the election manifestos of major parties include the future of industry, energy prices, a future ban on new combustion engine cars, and renewables expansion. CLEW has put together an overview of energy and climate policy positions from key parties, taken from their draft and final election programmes.
