Electric bus boom is passing Germany by – report

Handelsblatt

German cities are keen to replace their current busses with electric ones, but there aren’t enough German models available, Dieter Fockenbrock reports for Handelsblatt. The article says market leaders Daimler and MAN have been slow to develop e-busses, leaving the lucrative, state-subsidised market to foreign players such as Poland’s Solaris, China’s BYD and various startups. But with these manufacturers too small to meet demand, cities may end up investing in modern diesel buses instead, Fockenbrock says.
