ICCT EU stats: e-cars emit less CO2 over lifetime than combustion cars

The International Council on Clean Transportation has published a collection of European vehicle market statistics. The Pocketbook 2018/19 contains statistics on passenger car, light commercial and heavy-duty vehicle fleets in the European Union (EU) from 2001 to 2017. It offers data on vehicle numbers, fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions and drive technologies. The pocket book also contains ICCT analysis showing for example that a typical electric car already emits less CO2 over its lifetime than the most efficient comparable combustion car.
