"EnBW offers stakes in wind parks"

German utility Energie Baden-Württemberg (EnBW) is asking citizens to participate in the financing of  wind parks after offering stakes in wind farms to local communities and local utilities, Stuttgarter Zeitung reported, citing  EnBW. The utility offers 2.5 percent of interest annually to citizens for a fixed period of seven years and aims to expand that pilot project if it is received well, it said, according to the paper.

"German industry issues stark warning ahead of EU climate summit"

Energy-intensive industries in Germany warned that an extra burden from the European Union's energy and climate change summit later this week would lead to billions of euros in losses, website EurActiv reported, citing the association of energy-intensive industries (EID). Any burden on the industry in Europe would need to be comparable to burdens overseas as otherwise competition would lead to "considerable" damages to businesses, a spokesman for the association said, according to EurActiv.
