Businesses invest more than ever in energy efficiency, survey shows

German companies’ recent spending on energy efficiency and their plans for efficiency investments are higher than ever before, according to a survey conducted by Stuttgart University. The university’s efficiency index, compiled by the Institute for Energy Efficiency in Production (EEP) in collaboration with the German energy agency (Dena), the industry association BDI and other institutions, and based on a survey rose to a record 2.24 points in the winter of 2018-2019. “This means that companies want to save energy again and do something about it […] the energy transition in companies is underway,” the university said in a press release.
