Modern natural gas heating systems have played a major role in reducing CO₂ emissions, Stefan Kapferer, head of utilities lobby BDEW, says in a press release. Ending support for fossil-fuelled heating is therefore misguided, he argues. “The government should not ignore the great potential of natural gas regarding CO₂ reductions,” Kapferer said.
