The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) is accountable to the economy ministry (BMWK) and provides neutral and independent advice and information on geoscientific and natural resource issues. The BGR supports the federal government in their objectives of stimulating economic development, long-term protection and improvement of the quality of life, and enhancing technical and scientific expertise.
